The first Muslim woman of Pakistani origin to be appointed to a diplomatic post in British history

Toronto: The first Muslim woman of Pakistani origin has been appointed British Consul General. Fawzia Younis has also been posted as a diplomat in Pakistan.

According to the report of a foreign news agency, Britain has appointed Fawzia Younis, a Muslim woman of Pakistani origin, as the Consul General for Toronto, Canada.

Fawzia Yunus informed about her appointment on the social networking website Twitter and wrote that I have been appointed British Consul General in Toronto by King Charles.

He said that this is a special occasion when any Muslim woman has been appointed as the head of a diplomatic mission by the United Kingdom, but there is no further information regarding this.

Fauzia Younis further wrote in her tweet that girls who look like me. They face prejudice, racism and sexism from inside and outside circles, being told they can’t do something or look or speak like that. Don’t let anyone diminish your strength. You can change the world.

Fauzia Younis also thanked her parents in her tweets. Fauzia Younis is currently serving as the spokesperson of the British High Commission in Pakistan.
