The presale of an Ethereum (ETH) based smartphone is proving to be a huge success. Within 24 hours, the first 50 mobile devices with an Ethereum-based operating system were sold out.
Wow, that was quick. The pre-ordered NFTs have all been minted! 💜
Regular orders will open in Fall 2023 after pre-order shipments begin. 📱
Thank you for your support and we can’t wait to share the next releases of ethOS with all of you!

Revolutionary Ethereum smartphone
The “Ethereum Phone” is based on a Google Pixel 7a and comes with a unique open source operating system: ethOS. This stands for “Ethereum Operating System”, but also means “character” in Greek.
The devices are pre-installed with the ethOS operating system and differ from other Web3 smartphones in that they have an integrated Ethereum easy customer. This feature allows the operating system to independently validate ethOS blocks so that the device counts as one device ‘Light Node’ on the Ethereum network.
The Ethereum smartphone has several built-in tools for processing payments and receiving and sending messages. The mobile device also includes an integration for Ethereum Name Services (ENS) This makes it easier for users to make payments. The mobile devices also support Ethereum Virtual Machines (EVM) and Layer 2 scaling networks.
Ethereum smartphones only available through NFT
Only 50 mobile devices were available in advance. In order to qualify for these brand new Ethereum smartphones, interested buyers had to create an ethOS Non-fungible Token (NFT). They could burn, or destroy to reserve their phone.
Through a message X, formerly Twitter, is currently warning against trading fake NFTs on the platform of OpenSea, the largest platform for trading NFTs. Some NFTs are sold on OpenSea for 3 ETH, which is almost $5,000 worth. That’s almost a $4,500 difference compared to a regular Google Pixel 7a, which retails for $499 in the US.
Competition in the mobile Web3 space
While the Ethereum smartphone presale was a huge success, the Solana (SOL) smartphone had a less successful launch. According to Flipside, just over 2000 units have been sold since launch.
To boost sales of Solana’s easy-to-use crypto phone, Solana Labs recently dropped the price from $1,000 to $599. The price cut comes after the announcement of the launch of Ethereum smartphones, which will take place in autumn 2023.
