An airline flight in India took off leaving dozens of its passengers on the runway.
According to the report, the incident took place at the airport in the southern Indian city of Bangalore on the morning of Monday, January 9, where a passenger flight of the airline named ‘Go First’ was to depart for Delhi.
The report states that the 55 passengers of the flight were still on the bus on the runway to reach the gate of the aircraft from the terminal when their flight G8. 116 left for its destination.
According to Indian media, the incident occurred due to a misunderstanding between the crew of the plane and the ground staff of the airport.
Officials of the Indian Department of Civil Aviation have sought an explanation from GoFirst on how it forgot its 55 passengers on the runway. ‘GoFirst’ is an Indian low-fare budget airline, formerly known as ‘GoAir’. The company has apologized to passengers affected by the incident and said it is investigating.
Of the fifty-five passengers who could not leave for New Delhi on time due to this incident, 53 of them were sent to Delhi by another airline’s flight 4 hours later, 2 passengers refused to travel and were given their paid fares. The ticket was refunded.
