FC Barcelona President Joan Laporta is focusing his efforts on the club’s exit action with the aim of finding the right destination for several players including Sergiño Dest. Laporta would like some players like Ousmane Dembélé, Franck Kessié and Clement Lenglet disappear while Ez Abde’s future is also discussed.
However acc sports worldThe Sergiño Dest case seems to pose a bigger challenge for Barcelona. Despite playing under Xavi Hernández’s orders last season, the American winger failed to convince the manager and does not appear to have a clear place in the team, opening the door to a potential exit from this market.
Last year Dest was loaned out to AC Milan but his spell in Italy did not go as well as expected. Faced with this situation, the Catalan club are now looking for a solution that will satisfy everyone involved. There was speculation about a contract termination, but the player’s environment is surprised by this possibility and is not currently thinking about it.
They don’t want him in the squad
Barcelona are working hard to find a formula that will allow Dest to leave. The possibility of a transfer or a new assignment is being considered, similar to what he did at Milan last season, albeit with a minimum playing time guaranteed. The aim is to find a team that would like to use his services and where the winger can perform better to show his quality.
Interest has been piqued in Sergiño Dest from MLS (Major League Soccer), although the player would prefer to remain in Europe rather than return to the United States where he plays internationally. The winger, of Dutch origin but a US international, excelled at Erik Ten Hag’s Ajax Amsterdam before joining Barcelona under the stewardship of Ronald Koeman, who insisted on his signing and demanded €21m for him.
