Beyond the results, the champions who have been victorious in the six editions disputed to date, the spectacle that the fans who have come to visit have been able to enjoy. Real Club Valderrama, the Estrella Damm NA Andalucía Masters It has always been characterized by its commitment to the environment and the communities in the area. One more year, the tournament that will take place from October 14 to 17 in the beautiful route of Sotogrande, It will be accompanied by various initiatives that enhance its essence, starting with the cleaning of the Torreguadiaro beach that will take place on Tuesday 12 from 10 am.
The tournament is part of the program Green Drive of the European Tour, created to promote social and environmental responsibility and generate a positive impact in terms of sustainability. In this case, the action scheduled for the morning of the 12th will have an immediate and visible mark, since the volunteers will take care of collecting garbage and microplastics in this wonderful environment of the San Roque coastline.
Every year almost eight million tons of plastic waste end up in the sea and its extremely harmful presence for marine life and, by extension, for humans, since it contributes to the reduction of biodiversity and the extinction of species. The Estrella Damm NA Andalucía Masters team has organized this operation of beach cleaning with one simple goal: collect as much plastic and trash as possible so that the beach and ocean are clean and safe for everyone.
What’s more, The volunteers will be accompanied by Alejandro Cañizares and Santiago Tarrío, Spanish stars of the tournament, and their efforts and commitment will be rewarded as the first 200 participants will receive a pass to enter the Real Club Valderrama on Saturday and thus enjoy the Estrella Damm NA Andalucía Masters. Registering could not be easier, since all you have to do is show up at the registration booth located next to the flags of Torreguadiaro beach.
In recent memory there is another initiative launched in 2020 by those responsible for the European Tour, the Golf for Good program that raised € 100,000 last year for four charities of the area thanks to the eagles and birdies turned into the emblematic hole 17 of the Real Club Valderrama, or the efforts of the Sergio García Foundation in previous editions to support entities such as the Por Una Sonrisa association, an NGO that brings enthusiasm, happiness and hope children and adolescents affected by cancer in hospitals in the area. All these initiatives make it clear that the Estrella Damm NA Andalucía Masters transcends the barriers of sport and strengthens ties between golf and society.
