The Dominican Voice sues drivers and coaches for defamation

For a sum of 25 million pesos, the organizers of The Voice Dominicana sued the presenters and coaches of the television program.

The news was announced by the communicator Luz García, who was the presenter of the reality show during the two broadcasts carried out in the country.

When being interviewed by the journalist Richard HernándezGarcía confessed that both she and her companions were sued “for defamation”.

The lawsuit arises after the program team denounced alleged breaches of the payment agreement.

At the beginning of May, the coaches of the renowned singing contest, Milly Quezada, Eddy Herrera and Alex Matos; its drivers Luz García and Jhoel López; and its general producer, Angie Rodríguez, addressed the issue through a statement.

“These talents were part of this project through a formal contract that unfortunately has been breached for some time and after conversations with the producers they have left no other option than to make the situation public,” read part of the aforementioned document.

The executives of the program were pointed out for the action, Ariel Nina, Nixalys Espinal and Rafael Diaz.

According to singer Eddy Herrera, The Voice Dominicana owes him a sum of 28 thousand dollars, approximately 1 million 523 thousand 200 pesos.

While Luz García is owed an amount of 22 thousand dollars, approximately 1 million 210 thousand pesos.
