The Dominican Republic is recognized for the second consecutive year as the best tourist destination in the Caribbean

The Minister of Tourism, David Collado, received this Saturday in the city of New Yorktwo awards for the Dominican Republicwhere the country was recognized as the best destination in the Caribbean and the most familiar.

These distinctions were part of the awards celebration “Leisure Travel Award” Y Wherever Awards delivered by the specialized magazine Global Traveler.

The first of the prizes was “Best Caribbean Island”, which the Dominican Republic won for the second consecutive year. And the other recognition was “Best Caribbean island for families and friends”.

The collegiate minister thanked for the recognition and expressed that it “is the product of the great effort that has been made by the tourism cabinet, headed by the president, Luis Abinader in the recovery of the Dominican Republic destination after the effects of the pandemic.”

“This is a recognition that fills us with pride and that reaffirms the commitment of a whole team from both the public and private sectors that we have joined forces to make our country the best destination in the entire Caribbean” said the official upon receiving the award in the Big Apple.

According to a press release issued by the Ministry of Tourism, these awards join a series of awards that the country has received abroad both in terms of recovery of tourism and merits for being the best tourist destination in the region.
