The Dominican Republic debuts this Sunday against Costa Rica at the start of the XIX edition of the Pan American Women’s Volleyball Cup

Everything is ready for this Sunday, August 21, to start the XIX Women’s Volleyball Pan American Cup, starting at two in the afternoon local time, four in the afternoon, Dominican time.

The defending champions Dominican Republic, winners of the 2021 edition held in Santo Domingo, along with Canada, Costa Rica, Cuba, Mexico, Nicaragua, Puerto Rico and the United States represent the NORCECA Volleyball Confederation and Colombia together with Peru represent the Confederation South American Volleyball (CSV), have already concluded their training prior to the fair.

The Dominicans will make their debut this Sunday the 21st against Costa Rica at 2:00 pm local time (4:00 pm Dominican time).

 In the history of the event, the United States has won seven times, followed by the Dominican Republic with five titles, Cuba with four and Brazil with three.

 The teams are divided into two groups of five, with group A made up of Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, Peru, Puerto Rico and the United States and group B of Canada, Colombia, Cuba, host Mexico and Nicaragua.

 The preliminary round will be held from this Sunday 21 to Thursday 25; the quarterfinal round and the 7/10 place games will be on Friday the 26th. The semifinals and the final 7/10 positions will be played on Saturday the 27th, while the games for the medals together with the fifth place will be on Sunday the 28th.
