The ‘Dix Août’ and the ‘Seljm’, first leaders in the Rey Juan Carlos I Regatta El Corte Inglés Master

Sanxenxo already vibrates with 6-meter boats. This Friday the first day of official competition of the sixth edition of the Regatta Rey Juan Carlos I El Corte Inglés Master and the Louis Heckly’s French ‘Dix Août’ scored the first two victories in the Classics category and the Portuguese ‘Seljm’ is the first Open leader.

It was a good first day of navigation because there was a southwest component wind of between six and eight knots of intensity. The two scheduled tests could be played and the route, located within the Pontevedra estuary with the exit in front of the facilities of the Real Club Náutico de Sanxenxo, caused a good show to be experienced. At about 2:15 p.m., the first departure could be made and the desire to compete again caused a general out-of-line experience. With the competition already underway, in Classics, the French ‘Dix Août’ did not give his rivals a choice. The 6 Meters representative of the Yacht Club de France made its debut in the best possible way by winning two partial wins. “Our first sensations competing in Galicia is that it is a fantastic place to sail. We are obviously very happy with the results, two first places, although there is still a long way to go, ”said Heckly. After the ‘Dix Aout’, Miguel Lago’s “Alibaba II” with a Monte Real Club de Yates necklace and the “Caprice” of the Canido Maritime Club with Laureano Wizner at the helm, tied at seven points in second and third position of the general with some partials 2-5 and 3-4 respectively. Pedro Campos’ ‘Bribon 500’ is fourth, just one point off the podium.
