The Diamond League already has its calendar for the 2022 season. World Athletics has revealed this Thursday the 14 cities that will host the events of the most prestigious circuit in the world of athletics and that will bring together the great athletes from all over the world throughout the year. The appointments will be held from May to September to decide which athletes will go to the grand final in Zurich in search of the coveted diamond.
The Diamond League will begin on May 13 in Doha and will have a new appointment in Birmingham eight days later (May 21) before another of the most anticipated appointments of the competition: the Eugene meeting, where the World Athletics Championships will also be held. next year (May 28).
The circuit will head to Africa on June 5 with the dispute of the Rabat test to make the jump four days later to Rome (June 9), before two almost consecutive appointments in Oslo (June 16) and Paris (June 18 ) to resume competition again on June 30 in Stockholm before the World Athletics Championships in Eugene (July 15-24).
After the World Cup event, one of the great novelties of the Diamond League 2022 calendar appears: the return of the competition to China two years later. It will do so with an event in Shanghai on July 30 and another event in China (venue to be determined) on August 6.
The competition will return to Europe to face its final stage with the appointments of Monaco (10 August), Lausanne (26 August) and Brussels (2 September) before the dispute of the grand final in Zurich on 7 and 8 September, where The winners of the diamonds in the different categories will be decided.
