The scourge of cycling accidents has marked the start of the 2022 season. The serious accident suffered by Egan Bernal while training is now added to the outrage suffered by the Spanish cyclist Fran Casaus after abandoning this Wednesday in the Calvià Trophy, the first of the five tests of the Challenge de Mallorca.
The Manuela Fundación team, of continental category and in which the cyclist plays, assured this Thursday that Casaus is already in good condition after a long operation. “Fran Casaus, intervened successfully. The cyclist was run over yesterday (Wednesday) after abandoning the race. Casaus has been operated on today for almost four hours at the Rotger clinic, by Dr. Juan Calafat.”
The Manuel Fundación accompanied this message with a photo of Casaus already in the hospital bed and making the gesture that, despite the mishap, in which his left arm was damaged, is in good condition and is already counting down the days to get back on the road as soon as possible.
