With the traditional ribbon cutting, the Dominican Republic stand was inaugurated at the ITB Berlin 2023 international fair by the Minister of Tourism, David Collado, where he signed an agreement with the Swiss Edelweise airline that will bring a weekly flight from Zurich to Puerto Plata.
Minister Collado also received two recognitions from the main executives of Radio Group Germany, although the most applauded was the endorsement of the president of the World Tourism Organization, Zurab Pololikashvili, who assured during the signing of an agreement that the Dominican Republic is the most beautiful in the world
The day of the first day of participation in the ITB Berlin was spent at the inauguration, the signing with Swiss Edelweise, the UNWTO announcement of the celebration in the country of the 118th Meeting of its Executive Council in Punta Cana, in May of this year. and the delivery to the minister of two prizes by Radio Group Germany.
This Tuesday, the first day of the fair, the Banco de Reservas also inaugurated the exhibition “Wealth in the Dominican Republic”, by the Dominican photographer Eladio Fernández. At the inauguration ceremony of the Dominican stand, Collado said that it is time to look forward, to continue being innovative and for the whole world to continue talking about the Dominican Republic in the Caribbean.

UNWTO Council will hold its 118th meeting in Punta Cana
The minister signed an agreement in which he announced that for the first time the Republic will have a chair in the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO), since the 118th meeting of the UNWTO Council will be held in Punta Cana, next May. The president of the UNWTO, Zurab Pololikashvili, highlighted the leadership of Minister Collado, which he said has put the DR at the “top” in the world.
The UNWTO has 35 members from different countries, so holding the 118th meeting of its Executive Council will give it greater visibility, attract more investment and more projects, assured the UNWTO president on the first day of the ITB Berlin 2023.
