The coach of Brest wanted Messi to play because he loves him

As much as the eventual absence would be better for his managers, Michel Der Zakarian, coach of Brest, wished this Thursday the presence of Lionel Messi in the game that his team will play tomorrow against Paris Saint Germain for his deep admiration for the Argentine player, the which he compared with Diego Maradona.

“I would like Messi to be there because I love him as a player. Everything he does is like what (Diego) Maradona used to do. The ball hits their feet,” said the Armenian-born DT about the Argentine star, before the news that he was not summoned.

Der Zakarian clarified his admiration for the Argentine and had hoped that he could make his debut at the Francis-Le Blé stadium, even though that eventual presence further complicates his team’s chances.

And in that sense, the coach made it clear that his rival is a clear favorite to win, but assured that Brest will have a chance to win. “We know that it will be difficult regardless of the team they present. But in football, the small club always has a chance. You only see that in football,” said Der Zakarian.

“We know that PSG is ten times stronger than us, but it is a football game, we have to put an adequate strategy to cause problems for them, and in football anything can happen,” insisted the DT.

In the first two rounds, Brest drew their matches in French League 1 and tomorrow at 16:00 they will host Mauricio Pochettino’s PSG, who arrives with an ideal score.
