The first edition of Clásica Internacional Jaén Paraíso Interior for professional cycling will be held on February 14 and will debut on the UCI calendar (International Cycling Union) with a score of 1.1, with the aim of having the best Spanish and foreign sports groups.
The race is sponsored by the Provincial Council and the technical direction will be in charge of Pascual Momparler, the national cycling coach, announced the Andalusian Federation in the road racing calendar released for 2022.
In their social networks, the birth of this test is announced and it is revealed that the start will take place in Baeza and the finish line will be located in Úbeda, with the Cazorla Natural Park leading the way, the largest in Spain.
Both Úbeda and Baeza have played a leading role in cycling in the last two years. Thus, the locality from Ubetense was the end of the third stage of the 2020 Vuelta a Andalucía that began in Jaén and ended with the victory of the Danish Jakob Fuglsang. That same year, and despite the pandemic, they also hosted the most important tests of the Spanish Championship.
On that occasion, the start of the elite race was in Úbeda and the arrival in Baeza, With victory in professionals of the Murcian cyclist Luis León Sánchez, from the Bahrain sports group, ahead of Gorka Izagirre and Vicente García de Mateos.
