The Clásica Jaén Paraíso Interior reveals its hard route for 2023

The Clásica Jaén Paraíso Interior has come to stay after the success of the first edition held this season and in which the Kazakh Alexey Lutsenko took the victory alone.

This Wednesday the organization of the race promoted by the Spanish cycling coach Pascual Momparler has revealed what the route will be like of the race for the 2023 edition.

The test will be held on February 13 on a route of 179 kilometers starting in Úbeda and finishing in Baeza, of which 55 kilometers will be held in the eight sterrato sectors that the test will have, with important changes in the layout compared to last yearand with three laps of a final circuit through Baeza and its surroundings with a 6.4-kilometre section of sterrato in each of the two final laps.

In statements released by the organization Pascual Momparler analyzed this year’s route. “The Classic Jaén Paraíso Interior 2023 is going to be spectacular. We have sought to maintain our hallmarks, with the ‘sterrato’ sections between the sea of ​​olive trees so characteristic of Jaén and reduce the hardness of the route by one point. The purpose of the Clásica Jaén Paraíso Interior is to publicize all the beauty and richness of the province of Jaén”.

A layout that will once again feature the sterrato sections, many of them new, as Momparler reports. “Last year we visited the Sierra de Cazorla in the first part of the tour, and this year we will do the same in Sierra Mágina. As for the olive paths, just repeat Bayyasa as such, which this time will be the first to face. The others are new, including a longer route for the Ubbadat sector, where Alexey Lutsenko made the winning attack last year.

A Jaén Paraíso Interior Classic that will have even greater support from fans thanks to initiatives such as the contest to name the fifth section of sterrato of the event and also with the celebration of the Gran Fondo Jaén Paraíso Interior on February 12, that will go through four of the eight sterrato sections that the professionals will race through just one day later in a classic that wants to continue making a name for itself on the international calendar following the example of the Italian Strade Bianche.
