The children were found alive 40 days after the plane crashed

Colombian President Gustavo Petro said that 4 children who were missing as a result of the plane crash in the Colombian jungle have been found alive.

Children from the local community have been rescued by the military near the border between Colombia’s Caqueta and Guavier provinces where the small plane crashed.

On May 1, the plane crashed between Araraquara in the Amazonas province and the city of San Jose del Govier in the Govier province. The pilot made a mayday call reporting engine trouble and lost contact with the aircraft shortly after.
