The Champions Cup continues this weekend in SC and Barahona

The Superior Volleyball Champions Cup will enter its third week this Saturday with Calero, representative of the Santo Domingo province, walking the distance in the women’s branch, as well as with a fierce fight for the two places that go to the final in the men’s .

The Villa Duarte team, which leads with an immaculate record of 5-0, will face La Romana (0-5) in the first game that will take place at five in the afternoon at the Nigua sports center, while at eight o’clock the one that will star San Cristóbal (3-2) and La Vega (2-3) will begin.

Johana Montero, from the Santo Domingo collective, and Alondra Reyes, from San Cristóbal, share the points lead with a total of 57 each, closely followed by Katielle Alonzo (SD) with 54, while the best blocker has been Daniela de los Santos (SD) with 14, Mía Liberato (SD), the most outstanding from the service area (11)..

Crismelyn Paniagua, from San Cristobal, appears as the most outstanding setter, while her teammates Kirsys Fern ández and Lanesha Olivero lead the defense and libero sections with 37 and 82, in that order. Olivera is also the best receiver with 55 hits.

The most copious scorers in men are Bismal Almonte (East) and Frankelis Segura (South), with 92 and 9, respectively. The competitions in the men’s tournament will take place in the multi-purpose hall of the municipality of Cabral, Barahona, where at 5:00 pm the match between Santiago and Bayaguana will begin, who lead it with the same 3-2 record.

The second clash of the first day of the third stage of the tournament between the representatives of Santo Domingo (Villa Carmen) and the southern hosts (Laguneros de Cabral), both with a 2-3 mark, is scheduled for eight o’clock at night.
