The Catalan FA backs FIFA’s decision on Rubiales

The Catalan Football Federation backs FIFA’s decision to approve the suspension of Luis Rubiales as Spain’s representative on the body that regulates world football. The panel, led by Joan Soteras, issued a statement supporting the decision made and reiterated his position against the behavior of the Federal President at the celebration of the world championship title.

Initially, the FCF had supported Rubiales after the Extraordinary Assembly. According to Soteras, the statements made by the Granada man were “credible”. “That doesn’t mean that both I and my board liked the actions and actions they took.“added the Catalans’ leader.

In the letter published today, the FCF confirms its censorship of Rubiales’ behavior and calls it wrong from a moral and procedural point of view.

Regarding the suspension of FIFA, the panel chaired by Joan Soteras supports the decision and hopes for clarification from the judiciary and sports authorities. The FCF also undertakes to continue working in cooperation with the RFEF to promote women’s football.
