The big surprise that Valencia is preparing: the return of Alcácer!

Valencia CF are looking for a forward to add to their squad and offer alternatives to coach Rubén Baraja, who currently only has Hugo Duro due to Alberto Marí’s injury. With hopes of signing Rafa Mir on loan from Sevilla dwindling, the club have thrown a wide offer on the market and among the options a name familiar to Valencian fans has re-emerged: Paco Alcácer.

The Valencia forward, who grew up in Valencia’s youth academy and was traded to FC Barcelona in 2016, currently plays in the Dubai League. According to sources close to the club, Alcácer has shown his full willingness to return to the Mestalla. Despite earning almost €4m net per year in Dubai, the player has agreed to lower his salary to less than €1.5m net per season, paving the way for a potential comeback.

However, two significant obstacles still stand in the way. First, his current club must agree to his loan or sacking as Alcácer still has a two-year deal at Dubai. This point could be solved by a possible financial compensation. The second, and arguably most difficult, hurdle lies in the approval of Valencia CF’s main shareholder, Peter Lim, who imposed salary caps and created barriers to signings this summer.

Alcácer’s willingness to cut his salary and his desire to return to the Mestalla are clear signs of his commitment to the club, but it remains uncertain whether Peter Lim will give the green light to the operation, especially given the austerity measures they have implemented. Valencia CF fans are looking forward to the decision which could turn the tide on the club’s transfer front as the clock is ticking before the transfer window closes.
