The Biden administration wants to impose sanctions on more than 500 targets in response to Navalny's death

The Biden administration will impose it on Friday a new set of sanctions against more than 500 targets in response to the death of opposition activist Alexei Navalny and on the eve of Russia’s two-year war in Ukraine.

The sanctions are the administration’s latest move to impose consequences on Russia amid growing tensions between the two countries.

US National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan has stated that the new measures would be a “comprehensive package” covers a wide range of elements related to the Russian defense industrial base and the revenue sources of the Russian economy that drive the country’s “war machine”.
