The biased decision of the anti-Muslim yogi caused a wave of concern among the Muslims

New Delhi: The Uttar Pradesh government has approved the closure of grants to madrassas in the state on the pretext of Hindu-Muslim riots.

According to Indian media reports, the cabinet of partisan Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has approved the abolition of the previous government’s policies regarding madrassas, after which the grant for madrassas in UP has been stopped.

Ejaz Ahmed, president of the Islamic Madrasa Modernization Teachers Association of India (IMAS), expressed frustration over the yogi’s decision and said that if the madrassas were not given financial support, their renovation work would be halted. Will have the greatest impact on the teachers who teach in these madrassas.

He clarified that he would not feel secure in his future, which would result in the best teachers turning their backs on madrassas. If madrassas are to be mainstreamed, the government must reconsider its decision.

It is to be noted that the Yogi government had promised grants from 146 madrassas out of which 100 madrassas were included in the list, however, the case of the remaining 46 madrassas is still pending.

According to the Minister for Minority Welfare, these madrassas were not meeting the standards, now this policy has been scrapped in the cabinet, so no new madrassas will be added to the list of grants.
