The best cyclists in the world will be in the Ceratizit Challenge

The 7th edition of the Ceratizit Challenge by La Vuelta, which will be played from September 2 to 5, augurs a great battle and a lot of spectacle with a route of four stages drawn between the Mountain Station of Cabeza de Manzaneda (Ourense) and Santiago de Compostela. The competition will feature the best riders in the peloton.

The three runners who top the UCI ranking stand out: Annemiek van Vleuten (Movistar), Anna van der Breggen (SD Worx) and Elisa Longo Borghini (Trek-Segafredo). The first is the current European road cycling champion and leader of the UCI Women’s World Tour. After winning the Olympic gold in the modality against the clock, he prevailed in the Clásica de San Sebastián and in the Tour of Norway. Reigning world champion Van der Breggen will end her career at the end of the season. Longo Borghini is the Italian national champion and won the road cycling bronze medal at the Tokyo Olympics.

The most important stage race on the Spanish calendar will be run this year entirely in Galicia, with two half-mountain days, a time-climb and a flat stage. An appointment that has conquered the world stars of the women’s squad that are already on the pre-registered list: 24 teams for a total of 143 runners.

After winning in the last two editions, Lisa Brennauer (Ceratizit-WNT) will try to sign a triplet, although this year’s route presents very different characteristics from previous editions.

The test has attracted one more year a wide representation of Spanish cyclists led by the national champion on the road and time trial Mavi garcia (Alé BTC Ljubljana), Ane Santesteban (BikeExchange), Sheyla Gutiérrez and Lourdes Oyarbide (Movistar).
