Calcutta Due to the increase in Corona cases, the clouds of the crisis have begun to hang over domestic cricket. In such a situation, the Bengal Cricket Association (CAB) has decided to stop all local cricket competitions until January 15th. Tournaments affected include First Division, Second Division, age group tournaments, women’s cricket, and all-format cricket in all districts.

CAB Secretary Snehasish Ganguly said in a statement after the officials’ meeting: “The health and safety of cricketers is the highest priority and the decision was made in light of the growing number of pandemic cases. and the prevailing situation “. “At the same time, the CAB is taking all steps to introduce vaccination of all cricketers in the 15-18 age group according to state government guidelines and rules,” he added.

The meeting was called after the Bengal Ranji team’s preparations were hit by the Kovid-19 cases in the camp. Seven members of the Bengal Ranji team, including assistant coach Sourasish Lahiri, tested positive for Kovid on Sunday. On Tuesday, CAB President Avishek Dalmiya also tested positive and was admitted to the city hospital.
