The BBVA Open International Valencia Tournament, organized by Tennium and directed by the captain of the Spanish Federation Cup team, Anabel Medina, has kicked off today with 16 qualifying matches at the Sporting Club de Tenis in the Levantine city.
The contest will take place until September 19 and will have representatives such as the junior champion of Roland Garros, Rebeka Masarova, the junior world number 1, Victoria Jimenez or the winner of six ITF tournaments, Marina Bassols.
As maximum figures stand out Arantxa Rus, Aliona Bolsava, Mihaela Buzarnescu, Martina Trevisan or Maryna Zanevska. There will also be local representation with Leyre Romero, double winner of the Cairo Tournament in individual and doubles category, and the promises Lucia Cortez, Raquel González and Angela Fita. The final draw will start on Tuesday 14.
With a prize of up to $ 80,000 for its participants, this challenge it becomes the second most important in the country in terms of the economic section.
