The American Seignolle, new president of the IBA

American Elise Segnolle won this Saturday the elections for the presidency of the International Boxing Association (IBA for its acronym in English) after obtaining 106 votes, 18 more than the Swazi Perla Dlamini and 22 above the third in the ballot, the Australian Kristy Harris.

The elections, postponed 24 hours because the Court of Arbitration for Sport (TAS) had to decide if one of the candidates could stand, the Dutch Boris van der Vorst, could finally be held in Istanbul without further delay.

In addition, the new Board of Directors was elected, made up of eighteen directors, including the president, five presidents of Confederations, two representatives of the Athletes Committee and ten Independent Directors.
