Sediqullah Atal, the 21-year-old left-handed batsman for the Afghanistan cricket team, has surprised everyone by hitting 7 sixes in one over. Sediqullah did this feat against bowler Amir Zazai in the Kabul Premier League. In the match between Shaheen Hunters and Abasin Defenders, Sediqullah, playing for Shaheen Hunters, not only brought the team out of the crisis, but also played an important role in bringing them to a winning position.
When Sediqullah came out to bat in the match, by this time Shaheen Hunters’ side had lost all 3 of their wickets on a score of 16 runs. From here, Sediqullah continued to lead the team’s innings from one end and played an unbeaten innings of 118 runs off 56 balls aided by 7 fours and 10 sixes, playing to the end of the innings.
Shaheen, who bowled in 19 of the Hunters’ innings, hit Amir Jazai for 7 straight sixes. In this, Jazai bowled a wide ball along with a nine ball pitch. Amir Jazai gave away a total of 48 runs in his over. On the basis of this Sediqullah paki, Shaheen’s team scored 206 runs and then went on to win this match by 92 runs.
48 runs from 1 onwards. @Sediq_Atal26 it is now in the cricket history books. He equaled Rituraj Gaikwad’s 7 sixes in an over. Poor Amir Zazai, he almost escaped heartbreak. This 💯 must open the doors of cricket and international leagues for Atal. #future star #World record #sevensixes pic.twitter.com/Ntt0lkZVum

The feat of hitting 7 sixes in one over has also been done by Indian player Rituraj Gaikwad, who had done the feat of hitting 7 sixes in one over during the Vijay Hazare Trophy last year. Sediqullah has so far played 1 T20 game for Afghanistan, in which he was able to score only 11 runs.
