Spurs have emerged as one of the clubs interested in signing Pedro Neto, the Portuguese winger from Wolverhampton Wanderers. At 23, Neto is having one of his best seasons to date, directly contributing to 11 league goals and remaining a prominent figure in the Wolves team.
Although Neto’s contract at Wolverhampton runs until 2027, there is speculation that he could be sold next summer. As well as Spurs’ interest, Arsenal are also rumored to have shown admiration for the talented Portuguese winger, while Celtic’s Ange Postecoglou is also considering bringing him to London.
Pedro Neto, new option for Tottenham in the summer
However, signing Neto will not be an easy task for any interested team. According to a report in the Standard, Wolves have set a price of at least £60 million for the player, a figure which, according to journalist Ben Jacobs, exceeds the estimate of potential buyers.
Despite the difference in valuation, Wolves are in a strong negotiating position. After Antony moved to Manchester United for £86m 18 months ago, Neto’s price seems justified. Additionally, his experience and performances in the Premier League make him a valuable asset to any team looking to sign him.
Since arriving at Wolves, Neto has proven his quality with 14 goals and 24 assists in 130 games in all competitions. Given his youth and potential, it is understandable why clubs like Spurs are thinking about making a bid for the talented Portuguese winger.
