The battle to sign Amadou Onana is heating up between two of London’s greats: Arsenal and Chelsea. According to Spanish media Sport, both clubs have already started talks with Everton to secure the services of the promising Belgian midfielder.
Onana has excelled in the Merseyside side and his desire to challenge for trophies at a bigger club has put him on the radar of Arsenal and Chelsea. However, Barcelona have also shown interest in the former Lille player, although doubts remain over whether he can reach Everton’s asking price.
Onana, the wish of Arsenal and Chelsea
The 22-year-old midfielder has been a key player in Everton’s number 6 position this season, putting in solid performances in both defense and attack. With an impressive rate of duels won and a remarkable ability to work, Onana presents herself as a talent with great growth potential.
Although Chelsea have a list of options in midfield, including the likes of MoisĂ©s Caicedo and Enzo FernĂ¡ndez, it is in this area that Arsenal appear to need reinforcements most. With possible departures such as Thomas Partey and Mohamed Elneny on the horizon, the Gunners could make a real effort to sign Onana as part of their rebuilding project for next season.
