The 3×3 Women’s Selection has starred in a dream weekend in Paris. At the foot of the Eiffel Tower, Spain has been proclaimed the 3×3 European champion for the first time. A title that endorses the great summer 2021 starring the team led by Ana Junyer. Vega Gimeno, Sandra Ygueravide, Aitana Cuevas and Marta Canella signed on a spectacular Sunday, hanging the gold around their necks. A milestone that is already the history of Spanish basketball.
The afternoon started with an authentic offensive recital by Ana Junyer’s pupils. With the captain, Vega Gimeno, very inspired, Spain gave no option to a Ukraine that could do little in the face of the Spanish gale. France already knew their rival in the semi-final.

Qualifying for the grand final brought with it one of those games that undoubtedly encourage the practice of 3×3. France, with the support of their fans, controlled the semifinal during the first stage. With a 13-7 lead with 3:26 to go, the hosts caressed their way to the final. But the caste and competitive spirit of the National Team gave us one of those magical comebacks. For the history. Sandra Ygueravide was in charge of sentencing a tremendous duel that left Spain at the gates of its first continental gold.
In the decisive encounter, Spain did not give an option to a Germany that was always behind on the scoreboard. Thanks to an excellent defense, the National Team knew how to handle the situation to end up winning the gold medal. A title that improves the silver obtained in the 2017 and 2019 editions.
