The 31 Padre Vicente tournament will have the participation of 256 children

Everything is ready for the ball to roll and the emotions of the 31st Father Vicente Children’s Football Tournament to be experienced, announced the Football Association of the Espaillat Province (AFE), at a press conference in the halls of the Strategic Development Plan of the Espaillat Province (PEDEPE).

Once again, the traditional fair is dressed up with the celebration of some 24 games of the regular series, in addition to the quarterfinals, semifinals and the grand finale over two weekends with the participation of some 256 children who come to show their technical level in this category.

The president of AFE, Jose Frank Acosta reported that the event starts on Friday, August 19, starting at 2:30 in the afternoon with four games to be played at the Don Bosco play. The inauguration is scheduled for Saturday the 20th at 5:00 in the afternoon at Colegio Don Bosco, the official venue of the contest.

Acosta also emphasized the excellent organization that AFE executes in conjunction with the Salesian Ladies to guarantee transportation, food and the rooms where the visitors will sleep during the two weekends that the Children’s Soccer dedicated to Father Vicente lasts.

“On behalf of the executive committee of the AFE, we want to thank all those who have contributed their grain of sand so that year after year this soccer tournament becomes the main activity that this discipline has in the children’s category,” said Jose Frank Acosta. President of AFE.

Likewise, Guillermo Gómez, technical director of the fair, spoke who explained every detail of the event that will have 16 teams. In addition, the communicator Fernando Guzmán, offered the details of the transmission of the event through his Luxury Vision channel, as well as other Facebook platforms and regional cable.

In the press conference held at PEDEDE, the leaders of the Moca teams were also presented, by Alfonso Estrella and Julio Sánchez, and the uniforms that the children will have. The blessing of the act was in charge of the Salesian brother Rafael Payano.

Father Vicente was a Salesian priest who lived in the city of Moca between 1968 and 1974. He died in a car accident on August 28, 1974. He was considered the “Apostle of the Moca Youth”.
