The name of Lucas Ocampos, the talented Sevilla FC Argentina winger, has once again made headlines in the footballing world amid speculation about his future. Reports surfaced last weekend linking the player with a potential move to Saudi Arabia’s Al-Nassr, a side that boasts the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, Sadio Mane and other big-name footballers.
As reported by EstadioDeportivo, the Saudi club are considering the possibility of signing Ocampos as part of a squad reshuffle that could see the sale of Brazilian Anderson Talisca. The Argentine, who showed his skills in Seville, is believed to be one of the favorites to take the place left by Talisca. However, he is not the only possible option for the 29-year-old winger.
Fulham FC, an English team, was mentioned again in relation to Ocampos. Fulham have shown interest in the player in the past and, according to British media reports, have the liquidity to start the race for his signing. This wouldn’t be the first time Ocampos has been linked with a move to England, adding an extra element of intrigue to his current situation.
Last year, Ocampos experienced a turbulent situation in the transfer market. Despite having a contract until 2025, he was loaned out to Ajax under a deal that was later reversed and returned to Sevilla FC in January. This experience was challenging for the player, who not only had to deal with professional ups and downs but also being separated from his family.
I wouldn’t be the only one who would go
Sevilla FC sporting director Víctor Orta has announced progress on the departures of several players, including Adnan Januzaj and Oussama Idrissi. These departures could leave room for future signings and roster reshuffles. Januzaj in particular appears close to a move to Ligue 1 as talks between Sevilla FC and Stade Rennais are ongoing. For his part, Tecatito would be in orbit of Rayados de Monterrey.
