The 100 million signing Arsenal want to make for their striker

Arsenal are looking to strengthen their forward line ahead of next season and are reportedly eyeing Brighton striker Evan Ferguson. With Gabriel Jesús’ season marred by injuries and the need to improve his goal scoring performance, the Gunners believe Ferguson could be a valuable acquisition.

Football Insider reports that Arsenal are keeping a close eye on the young Republic of Ireland international ahead of a potential summer transfer. Previously, Ferguson had also attracted the attention of Chelsea, who were speculated to be willing to pay up to £100 million for the 19-year-old, according to a report in the Evening Standard.

Evan Ferguson, Arteta’s new dream

Brighton have been known for selling some of their best talent of late, including Leandro Trossard and Ben White, who both moved to Arsenal. This could suggest that the club would be willing to negotiate a transfer for Ferguson if a suitable offer were made.

As for Ferguson’s destination, both Arsenal and Chelsea are possible options. However, if a choice is made between the two clubs, given the Blues’ current situation, the Emirates Stadium appears to be the cheapest option at the moment. Although Chelsea has an interesting project focused on young players, Arsenal offers, in addition to European football, stability and the opportunity to compete for important titles.

With the summer transfer window on the horizon, there are likely to be further moves at the top that could influence Ferguson’s future. The likes of Victor Osimhen and Ivan Toney could also be in play, making the picture even more interesting in terms of transfer opportunities for the young Irish striker.
