‘Fighter’ directed by Siddharth Anand was released in theaters on the occasion of Republic Day. The film stars Hrithik Roshan and Deepika Padukone in the lead roles. People were impressed after watching the trailer of Fighter and were eagerly waiting for the release of the film. The film was released and failed to meet box office expectations. Everyone thought that Fighter would set a new record at the box office, but nothing of the sort happened. Siddharth’s last film Pathan was a box office hit immediately after its release. Now the director has explained why Fighter couldn’t be as successful as Pathan.
In a special conversation with Gallata Plus, Siddharth Anand spoke about the box office collection of the film. He said the main reason for this was that the film was released on a working day. The film was released on January 25th. Publishing in the middle of the week presented many challenges.
Siddharth further said, “The concept of the hunter was air combat.” Many people didn’t know about this. He said, “The second thing is the genre.” Fighter is a big step for a filmmaker. This is something completely new. There is no connection to the audience here. He says, “What are these planes doing?”
Siddharth further said, “Around 90 percent of people in our country have not had the experience of sitting in an airplane.” He has never been to the airport. For this reason he couldn’t identify with the film. Especially in aerial action scenes.
Talking about fighters, Anil Kapoor, Karan Singh Grover, Akshay Oberoi play important roles along with Hrithik Roshan and Deepika Padukone.
