The Tactician’s Crown is just around the corner. This year’s event kicks off on July 11 and wraps up on July 13. To get you ready, we’ve put together a guide with all the essential info.
Who’s Competing?
40 pro players will battle it out in the TFT world championship. They earned their spots through regional tournaments. Here’s how the slots are divided:
- Asia-Pacific: 11 players + 1 wild card
- China: 10 players
- Americas: 10 players + 1 wild card + 1 regional winner
- Europe, Middle East, and Africa: 9 players + 1 wild card
The Prize Pool
The total prize money is $470,000. The champion will take home $150,000.
How it Works
The competition is dynamic, with different formats each day. After five rounds, the top players will face off in the final, with the first to reach 20 points crowned the Tactician’s Crown champion.
Players earn points based on their lobby ranking:
- 1st place: 8 points
- 2nd place: 7 points
- 3rd place: 6 points
- 4th place: 5 points
- 5th place: 4 points
- 6th place: 3 points
- 7th place: 2 points
- 8th place: 1 point
Day 1: Round 1
The 40 players will be divided into five lobbies and play six games. The lobbies will be reshuffled after two games, based on the total points earned so far. The top 32 players will move on to Day 2, while the bottom eight will be eliminated.
Day 2
The remaining players will keep their points from Day 1. They’ll be divided into four lobbies and play two games. Only the top 24 players will advance to the next round.
The competition will continue with Rounds 3 and 4, with players being eliminated after each round. The top four players will advance to the final, while players ranked 5-12 will play an additional round to determine the last four finalists.
