Tesla works on a humanoid robot: his name is Optimus and he will be “friendly”

Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla, stated that your company is working on a humanoid robot and this will build a prototype “Sometime next year.”

The humanoid robot will build on Tesla’s experience with automated machines in its factoriesas well as some of the hardware and software used by the Autopilot driving assistance software.

Musk, who has repeatedly talked about his fears of runaway artificial intelligence, said the Tesla Bot is “Intended to be friendly”, but that the company is designing the machine in a “Mechanical level” for what “You can run away from him and probably overpower him.”

It will be 1.5 meters tall, weigh 57 kilos and will have a screen for a face. The robot’s code name within the company is “Optimus,” he said.
