Tesla returns to record sales in last quarter

Quarter after quarter, Tesla continues to assert itself as the world’s leading manufacturer of electric cars. In the second quarter of 2021, it once again breaks sales and production records.

In a statement, the manufacturer led by Elon Musk revealed that it had built 206,421 vehicles during this period. For the first time, it managed to deliver 201,250 vehicles to its buyers.

Of the Model S and Model X, Tesla produced 2340 vehicles, delivering 1,890. In the case of the Model 3 and Model Y, it recorded 204,081 products and 199,360 delivered. These numbers end up exceeding Wall Street’s expectations.

It wasn’t an easy quarter for Tesla, as The Electrek notes. The brand has experienced constant delays in delivering the new Model S, and more than 10,000 vehicles will have been in containment by May, delaying many deliveries.

June, therefore, played a central role for the manufacturer in achieving these expressive figures. This is after the first quarter of the year, during which it managed to deliver 185,000 vehicles.

“In the second quarter, we produced and delivered over 200,000 vehicles. Our teams have done an excellent job” Tesla said in a statement. It was another semester to add up, even with all the constraints.
