It’s official: the Tesla Model Y Performance, a vehicle many fans have been waiting for, has finally arrived. Following in the footsteps of last year’s Model 3 Performance, Tesla decided to take its quick SUV to the legendary Nürburgring track and boost its capabilities. Now, the Model Y sports Tesla’s newest 4DU Performance traction units. These send a total of 460 horsepower to all four wheels. This power helps the SUV go from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.5 seconds. It can also reach a top speed of 250 km/h.
Just after a quick teaser online, Tesla launched the sporty electric crossover in Europe today. This new Model Y arrives with a range of cool features. It includes adaptive suspension and various driving modes. Drivers will also notice a higher top speed and quicker acceleration. Tesla added many other upgrades, both inside and outside the car.
Tesla itself says the Model Y Performance comes with an improved high-voltage battery. This battery uses larger capacity cells. It gives the car a WLTP range of 580 kilometers.

The Model Y Performance has two electric motors. This setup helps it blast from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.5 seconds. Its top speed is 250 km/h. That’s 6 kilometers shorter than the Long Range All-Wheel Drive version.
When you compare it to the European Long Range AWD version, the Performance model is quite a bit quicker. It hits 100 km/h 1.3 seconds faster. Its top speed is also 49 km/h higher. Even with all these details, Tesla did not formally disclose the specific engine power for this new model. The company promises an energy consumption of 16.2 kWh per 100 kilometers.
The new Tesla Model Y Performance weighs 2033 kg. It has these measurements:

- Total width – 1982 mm with mirrors folded and 2129 mm with mirrors open
- Total height – 1611 mm
- Ground clearance – 151 mm
