This beats established vehicles like the Renault Clio, the budget Dacia Sandero or the Volkswagen Golf. And, it can be said, for quite considerable amounts. According to this research, 24,591 Tesla Model 3s were sold in Europe in September.

Compared to September 2020, the Tesla Model 3 registers a 58% growth in its sales. In the opposite direction, we find the Renault Clio in second place, with 18,264 vehicles sold in this period. A 23% drop compared to the same period last year.

As indicated, this is the first time that a vehicle from outside Europe has led sales in the Old Continent. This shows not only the relevance of Tesla, but also the growing commitment of consumers to electric vehicles.

The study reveals that 23% of total car sales in Europe are already electric. Compared with the homologous period, the values practically doubled. Overall, however, car sales were down 25% compared to the prior year, largely due to component shortages.
