Tesla closes 2021 electric car sales target

With the turn of the year, it is time to specify figures and balances for the previous year. In an official statement, Tesla revealed production and sales figures for the last quarter of the year, as well as for the year to 2021.

During the last quarter of 2021, Tesla achieved a total production of 305,840 vehicles, with deliveries of 308,600 units. These are quite generous numbers, but not enough to reach the brand’s goal for 2021.

In terms of production, 13 109 vehicles are Model S or Model X, of which 11 750 have been delivered. As for the Model 3 and Model Y, 292 731 were produced and 296 850 were delivered in the last quarter of the year.

Tesla delivered 936 172 electric cars in 2021

Despite these numbers, they were not enough for Tesla to reach the ‘million’ vehicle delivered. In 2021 a total of 930 422 vehicles were produced and 936 172 units were delivered.

The great preponderance goes to the Model 3 and Model Y. Of these models, a total of 906 032 were produced and 911 208 units were delivered. As for the Model S and Model X, 24,390 were produced and 24,964 were delivered throughout the year.

Tesla clarifies that “net income and cash flow results will be announced with the rest of the financial performance when we announce fourth quarter earnings. Our delivery count should be considered a bit conservative as we only count a car as delivered if it is transferred to the customer and all paperwork is correct. Final figures may vary by as much as 0.5% or more. “

In addition, “Tesla vehicle deliveries represent only one measure of the financial performance of the company and should not be considered an indicator of quarterly financial results, which depend on a variety of factors, including cost of sales, currency movements and the combination of vehicles rented directly “. .

These figures are nearly double Tesla’s 2020 deliveries of 499,550 vehicles.
