10 soldiers have been killed in a terrorist attack in Pakistan’s Balochistan province. Terrorists attacked a security forces check post in Kech district of Pakistan’s restive southwestern Balochistan province, killing 10 soldiers. The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the army’s media department, said the attack was carried out by terrorists on the intervening night of January 25-26. In this attack, 10 soldiers were killed, while in retaliation by the army, one terrorist was killed and several others were injured. Army has caught three terrorists. No organization has claimed responsibility for this attack yet.

Significantly, Balochistan province, bordering Iran and Afghanistan, has remained a stronghold of violent insurgency for a long time. Baloch insurgent groups have carried out several attacks in the past targeting China-Pakistan Economic Corridor projects in the region.

Last month also the check post was targeted
Twice in December last month in Pakistan’s Balochistan province, the Kech district police check post was targeted by terrorists. Terrorists had attacked with a bomb, in which two Pakistani soldiers were killed. The attack took place when vehicles were being checked at the check post.
