“Terror”, the play that will land on June 30 at the National Theater

Theater and television figures will return to the stage embodying their respective characters in the work titled “Terror”which will premiere on June 30 at the Ravelo Hall of the National Theater, under the direction and production of Ramón Santana.

The staging features a cast led by Irving Alberti, Orestes Amador, Beba Rojas, Luvil González, Richard Douglas and Yanela Hernández, accompanied by Madeline Bare, Nathalia Rodríguez and Juan La Voz.

Terror is a work by the famous German writer and criminal lawyer Ferdinand Von Schirach, which has been a success in all the countries where it has been presented. The work poses an ethical and moral dilemma that calls into question the fundamental principles of justice and human dignity.

A plane with 164 passengers is hijacked by a terrorist (hence the title of the work, Terror). His intention is to crash it into a stadium with 70,000 spectators. To prevent this, a major from the German army decides to shoot down the plane, to avoid a greater tragedy. He now faces a trial where the public decides if he is a hero or a murderer, if he is guilty or innocent. Is fair always right? That is the approach of Terror.

“The court is a stage and this is not a play” says the Judge (Orestes Amador) at the beginning of the show and points out that the public acts as a jury and must participate in the trial of the protagonist, voting at the end of the function if the defendant (Irving Alberti) is guilty or innocent. “According to the verdict of the public, the play has two alternate endings,” added Santana. The actors commented that it is an unparalleled show in terms of Law and Aeronautics, since the public that attends to enjoy the work will feel that they are entering an airplane cabin, by the master of the set design, Fidel López and lighting by Ernesto Lopez.

At the press conference held at La Vinatería Bistro & Bar, the producer thanked the owner and Chef Yindra Alvarado for welcoming the media. He highlighted the contributions of the German Embassy and expressed his gratitude to the ENALAS team. Likewise, he thanked Bibigo, Jinro Soju and Estrella Damm for the toast.
