Terra founder Do Kwon is wanted by the South Korean authorities, but says he is not hiding. In a post on Monday, Do Kwon says it’s possible that members of the community have spotted him on the streets or around shopping centers in recent weeks.

Do Kwon has made it clear to his one million followers that he has not found his name on the Interpol lists. However, it should be noted that not all names on the list are public. Interpol always chooses to withhold certain names from the general public, although that would be strange in Do Kwon’s case, given that everyone knows the situation. “I write code in my living room. I make zero effort to hide myself,” writes Do Kwon.
At the time Do Kwon published the messages, his location was on Twitter in Singapore. But from a report by Reuters of 17 September it appears that he has left that country for a long time. Do Kwon was born in South Korea, where it is in principle forbidden to hold two nationalities, but it is unknown whether Do Kwon has a passport for another country. It’s quite possible he’s been getting this under the radar for the past few months or years.
Do Kwon doesn’t believe it
It is clear that Do Kwon does not believe that Interpol actually issued a ‘Red Notice’. In principle, that gives local police the opportunity to arrest Do Kwon if they track him down. Should Do Kwon actually be in Singapore, this could be a way to arrest him. In principle, South Korea does not have an extradition agreement with Singapore.
However, Do Kwon himself finds it strange that his name is not on the public list of Interpol. Although it is quite possible that they try to get him first without making this information public, so as not to make him feel like he has to escape.
