Do Kwon, the founder and former CEO of the failed Terra, is said to be hiding in Europe, according to the latest reports. If we are to believe the South Korean state media, Do Kwon’s whereabouts have now been partially discovered.
Do Kwon in Europe
On November 3, the Korean Broadcasting System (KBS) familiar that there are rumors that Do Kwon is currently in Europe. The criminal founder of Terra is said to have fled to Europe via Dubai. At one point, Do Kwon would even have been in South Korea for a while, but at a later date he fled to Singapore.
In the meantime, Do Kwon’s passport has been declared invalid and, in principle, he has nowhere to go. In any case, it is impossible for him to cross the border legally. However, Do Kwon is not just anyone, he has a large capital and probably also the ability to do something.
It is possible to buy passports for certain amounts and that is something that Do Kwon has probably done. Otherwise, by definition, it would have been a lot more difficult for him to travel.
Country of residence is known
At the moment, however, only the country where Do Kwon is said to be located is known. KBS does not know which country that is, for whatever reason. The question now is whether the authorities of the country in which Do Kwon is located know where he is at the moment. After that, it should theoretically be possible to arrest him based on Interpol’s Red Notice.
It appears that KBS got their information directly from the Seoul Southern District Prosecutor’s Office, though that authority itself has not made a public statement anywhere. In that regard, it seems that it is a leak. For the victims and the industry, it is to be hoped that justice will come soon. Types like Do Kwon put crypto in a bad light and the industry can’t use that right now.
