Tenerife Confirms Roster Completions: Insights into Team Building Efforts

Tenerife’s sporting director Mauro Pérez outlines plans for the upcoming season

Tenerife’s sporting director Mauro Pérez has reaffirmed the team’s commitment to strengthening the squad ahead of the new season. Despite already making four signings, Pérez believes that the team still needs a few more players to complete the roster.

"We’ve got a ‘block armed’ in place, but we want to finish it off with deep players who attack spaces and have a lot of energy," Pérez said during the presentation of new signings Juande Rivas and Salvi Carrasco. "We’ll proceed without rushing and get it right, making as few mistakes as possible."

Pérez added that the club cannot compete with teams from LaLiga EA Sports, citing Almería’s recent signing of Portuguese goalkeeper Luis Maximiano for eight million euros. "The entire budget of Tenerife is for its footballers," he said.

In terms of specific positions, Pérez confirmed that the team is looking for depth in attack, particularly on the wings, where they currently only have Luismi Cruz and Waldo Rubio.

Meanwhile, Pérez has confirmed that Mo Dauda, a Ghanaian player who has been on loan at Eldense since January, will likely be leaving the club. "We have to find a solution, he’s not the profile we need," Pérez said.

On a more positive note, Pérez hailed the progress of French midfielder Yann Bodiger, who has a contract with the team. "We made a big bet on him last season, and we believe, and hope, that he can give much more," Pérez said.

The sporting director also acknowledged that other players will likely be sent out on loan to continue improving their performance, citing the example of David Rodriguez, a right back who earned a professional contract after a successful loan spell at Antequera in the First Federation.
