Tellez, Anderson and Mitchell give H4 in a row against Max Scherzer, Brewers win

Tellez, Anderson y Mitchell dan H4 seguidos ante Max Scherzer, Cerveceros ganan

Rowdy Tellez, Brian Anderson and Garrett Mitchell hit back-to-back home runs off Max Scherzer in the sixth inning, and Wade Miley earned his 100th career win when the Milwaukee Brewers beat the New York Mets 9-0 on Tuesday.

Anderson and Mitchell also hit back-to-back home runs in the seventh off reliever Brooks Raley. Anderson, who homered in Monday’s 10-0 win over the Mets, also hit a two-run double in the first inning against Scherzer (1-1) and finished with six RBIs.

Miley, who started just eight games for the Chicago Cubs last season due to elbow and shoulder issues, made his season debut with the Brewers. She started 16 games for Milwaukee in 2018, compiling a 5-2 record. The 36-year-old lefty rejoined the Brewers in January when he signed a one-year, $4.5 million contract with a mutual option for 2024.

Miley (1-0) pitched six strong innings and allowed five hits. She struck out three and did not walk.

Three relievers completed an eight-hit ball, handing the Mets back-to-back shutouts for the first time since June 2021 against Atlanta.

The Brewers beat New York for the 17th time in the last 20 games in Milwaukee.

Milwaukee tagged Scherzer with eight hits and five runs in 5 1/3 innings. The only other time the three-time Cy Young Award winner had hit three straight home runs was in July 2017 with Washington in Arizona when David Peralta, AJ Pollock and Jake Lamb deepened the first.

It marked the first time Brewers hitters had hit three straight home runs since Aug. 8, 2018, when Jesús Aguilar, Travis Shaw and Eric Thames accomplished the feat against the Padres.

For the Brewers, shortstop Willy Adames went 2-for-4 with two runs scored. For the Mets, Starling Marte went 1-4.
