Telenovela Star Marlene Favela Unmasked on ‘The Masked Singer’ Mexico: Only Anahí Knew

Mexican actress Marlene Favela was revealed as the identity behind the “Bebeeeee” costume on the latest episode of ‘Quién es la Máscara.’ The unmasking occurred during the second program of the season. Only investigator Anahí correctly guessed Favela’s identity.

Favela, 49, is widely recognized for her roles in popular telenovelas. Her credits include ‘Gata Salvaje’ and ‘Contra Viento y Marea.’ Her reveal came as a surprise to the show’s panel of investigators.

“I had fun, I played, I did things Marlene would never do,” Favela stated after her mask was removed. She expressed joy at her time on the show.

Anahí, a returning investigator, explained her reasoning. A clue involving a “wild cat” helped her. She admitted she was not entirely confident in her guess, initially telling fellow investigator Carlos Rivera she might be wrong.

Marlene Favela is the second celebrity to be unmasked this season. The decision for her elimination was made by a combination of investigator votes and the public’s choice to save another character, “Tony Manguera.”

The show’s format features 18 new characters, each a disguised celebrity. They perform musical numbers, dancing and singing, while attempting to give as few clues as possible. Investigators analyze their performances closely.

One celebrity is called to the stage each episode. Their performance dictates whether they must reveal their identity.

The current panel of investigators includes Anahí Puente, Juanpa Zurita, and Carlos Rivera. Ana Brenda Contreras joined the team, replacing Martha Higareda who is on maternity leave.

Earlier in the season, Puerto Rican TV host Adamari López was the first celebrity to be revealed. She was performing as the character “Shiba Moon.”

Following the exits of “Shiba Moon” and “Bebeeeee,” several characters remain in the competition. These include Tony Manguera, Hieny Fer, Capibara, Carroñero, Maestro Bops, María Ovina, Nocturna, Sonaja, Chupón y Bebé, Federico García, Metaliebre, Ruby Gloss, Samurai, Mini Chang, Monsquezee, Sony Hámster, and Tropicoco.

The next episode of ‘Quién es la Máscara’ is scheduled for Sunday, October 26. It will air at 8:00 PM Eastern Time / 7:00 PM Central Time on Mexico’s Canal de Las Estrellas. Host Omar Chaparro has confirmed that two more characters will be eliminated in the upcoming broadcast.
