The Indian team had a dominant performance in the second ICC Women’s Under-19 T20 World Cup, which took place in Malaysia’s capital, Qualampur. They continued their unbeaten campaign throughout the tournament and won the trophy for the second time. Some players played a crucial role in Team India’s success, including opening batsman Gongadi Trisha. Throughout the tournament, Trisha’s bat performed exceptionally well, scoring a total of 309 runs, while she also took 7 wickets in bowling. Gongadi Trisha met Telangana State Chief Minister Revanth Reddy at his residence, Jubilee Hills, on February 5. The Chief Minister congratulated Trisha on her exceptional performance in the recently held Under-19 Cricket World Cup. He wished Trisha continued success in the field of cricket and to bring glory to the country. The Chief Minister announced a cash reward of Rs 1 crore to cricketer Trisha and Rs 10 lakh to Telangana’s Under-19 World Cup team member Dhruti Kesari. The state government also announced a cash prize of Rs 10 lakh to Indian women’s Under-19 team head coach Naushin and trainer Shalini.

This was the second edition of the Women’s Under-19 T20 World Cup, where Gongadi achieved two significant records that may be difficult to break. She scored over 300 runs with the bat throughout the tournament, becoming the first player to cross this figure in an edition. Additionally, she holds the record for being the highest run-scorer in a single edition. Gongadi Trisha is also the first player in the Women’s Under-19 T20 World Cup to score a century innings. Throughout the tournament, she maintained an average of 77.25 while batting in 7 innings.
