Tejada, Pérez, Vila and Del Rosario win in Table Tennis qualifiers

 

The Fedoteme seeks to form the teams that will represent the country in the U-11 and U13 Pan American Championship

 

SANTO DOMINGO. Alexander Tejada, Alexander Pérez, Iván Vila and Dariel del Rosario emerged victorious in the first round of the Table Tennis qualifiers held last weekend at the Salcedo Province Sports Center.

The tournament, organized by the Salcedo Table Tennis Association, chaired by Enrique Rosario, was endorsed by the Dominican Federation of that discipline (Fedoteme).

The qualifiers carried out by Fedoteme have the objective of conforming the selected ones that will represent the country in the U-11 and U-13 Pan American Championship that will take place in the Table Tennis Pavilion of the Parque del Este.

Tejada, from the Santo Domingo province, and Pérez, from Santiago, ranked first and second, respectively, in the U-13 category, while Iván Vila, from Santiago, and Dariel del Rosario, from the Hermanas Mirabal province, shared the third rung.

“It has been a great tournament in which the best players in their categories have been seen competing and showing their progress in table tennis,” said Enrique Rosario, who is also Fedoteme’s treasurer.

The sports director indicated that the call brought together the best 12 athletes from both male and female categories.

At the opening ceremony, the directors of the Salcedo Table Tennis Association presented a plaque of recognition to Professor Antonio Muñoz (Toñito), director of the Emiliano Tejera Secondary School in the province.
