Smartphone maker Tecno, part of China’s Transsion Holdings, showed off a wild idea at MWC 2025. This was the Spark Slim concept phone, an impossibly thin device at just 5.75 millimeters. The tech world saw this vision during the event in Barcelona, Spain, from March 3-6, 2025.
Now, Tecno is turning that dream into reality. They are not only ready to sell the Spark Slim but also introducing a close cousin, the Pova Slim. Both phones bring that super-slim design to life, complete with their own set of impressive features.

Achieving such slender profiles wasn’t easy. Tecno reworked the internal layout for both the Spark Slim and Pova Slim. They used something called Honeycomb technology, stacking components in layers. This smart arrangement makes the most of the tiny space inside. They also packed in some incredibly thin parts:
- The USB Type-C connector is just 0.45 mm thin.
- A special cooling system, a Vapor Chamber, measures only 0.3 mm.
- The 5,160 mAh battery is remarkably slim at 4.04 mm.
- Even the back cover is aerospace-grade fiberglass, only 0.36 mm thick.
Thanks to these engineering feats, the Tecno Spark Slim measures a mere 5.93 mm thick and weighs 156 grams. That’s quite a feat for a phone in the mid-range category. The Pova Slim is nearly identical, at 5.95 mm thin, sharing the same light 156-gram weight.

Under the hood, these phones offer different power. The Tecno Spark Slim runs on MediaTek’s Helio G200 chip. This processor, launched in May 2025, uses a 6-nanometer process and clocks in at up to 2.2 GHz.
Meanwhile, the Tecno Pova Slim gets its muscle from MediaTek’s Dimensity 6400 chip. This chip, which debuted in February 2025, also uses a 6-nanometer design, but boasts a faster top speed of 2.5 GHz.
For photos, both models come with a 50-megapixel main camera. However, the Spark Slim stands out with its unique “Mood Light” LED strip. This strip can create various lighting effects and even show animated notifications.

Beyond their processors and camera nuances, both Spark Slim and Pova Slim share many compelling features:
- They feature a curved AMOLED display panel. This screen supports a super smooth 144 Hz refresh rate and can get very bright, up to 4,500 nits.
- Each phone houses a 5,160 mAh battery. This battery supports fast 45 W charging and can even share power with other gadgets at 10 W.
- An IP64 rating means the phones are protected from dust and water splashes from any direction.
- They operate on HiOS, Tecno’s custom operating system. This is built upon Android 15 and includes Tecno’s own AI software.
We’re still waiting on the exact prices for the Spark Slim and Pova Slim. Tecno plans to share these details and more very soon.
