Team India announced for Australia series, Rohit-Virat got rest; Ashwin’s comeback

Team India Squad: Team India has been announced for the three-match ODI series against Australia starting September 22. Virat Kohli and captain Rohit Sharma were rested in the first two games. The command of the team is in the hands of KL Rahul. R Ashwin has returned to the team. However, Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli and Hardik Pandya will return to the team for the third ODI.

In view of a major event like the World Cup, BCCI has decided to give a break to the senior players from the first two ODIs. At the same time, it was also announced that there may be a change in Team India for the World Cup. Due to Akshar Patel’s injury, the players have to think about a replacement. R Ashwin and Washington Sundar are considered options. Therefore, these two players were retained in the team for all three ODIs. It is possible that one of Ashwin and Sundar will get the World Cup ticket.

Apart from this, the selectors have made room for Ruturaj Gaikwad in the team for the first two ODIs. Tilak Verma and Prasidh Krishna are also part of the team for the first two ODIs. But these three players will not be in the team in the third ODI. However, Sanju Samson was not selected for any game. It is clear from this that the doors of Team India are closed for Sanju Samson.

India has to play three ODIs against Australia. The first ODI will be played on September 22nd while the second ODI will be played on September 24th. The third and final ODI match of the series is scheduled to be played on September 27.
